The Traffic Unit, under supervision of Sgt. Bryan Lowry, is responsible for the orderly flow of traffic through the city limits by monitoring drivers.
These officers respond to vehicle accidents, run radar, and perform funeral and dignitary escorts. Traffic officers are certified traffic homicide investigators, and are responsible for overseeing all traffic fatality investigations.
The Traffic Unit is also responsible for overseeing all special functions which occur within the city such as parades, festivals, runs, and other traffic related activities. In addition, officers assigned to the retail district and the downtown area work out of this section.
