Protected Trees

The protected tree list identifies all the species of trees that the City of Pensacola aims to protect. The trees are categorized by the size at which they become protected. Remember, if you aren't certain, consult a professional or give our staff a call.

When measuring a tree to determine if it meets the trunk diameter criteria for protection, the measurement should be taken at Diameter Breast Height (DBH). Diameter Breast Height is the diameter of the tree at 4.5 feet above the ground.
