Homeless Prevention Funds Available

On April 6, 2016, EscaRosa Coalition on the Homeless (ECOH), our community’s lead agency to prevent and eliminate homelessness, announced it has Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funds available to assist local families with children who are in imminent danger of homelessness due to falling behind on their mortgage, rent, or utilities.

Here are their criteria to offer assistance:

• At least one child in the household
• At least one member of the household must be a US Citizen
• Household income must be below the 2015 Federal poverty level for the household size (see chart)

• Household must show evidence that they will be able to sustain their housing costs
after receiving the assistance
• If the assistance is to help with utilities, utilities cannot be disconnected

Residents who need this assistance and who believe they qualify can call ECOH at (850) 439-3006 ext 102 or 103 to start the application process.
