Be Ready Alliance Coordinating for Emergencies-(BRACE), Community Maritime Park, and the City of Pensacola invite you to the 3rd Annual City-Wide Hurricane & Disaster Preparedness Day event on Sat, June 13 from 10am-2pm at the Community Maritime Park

Be Ready Alliance Coordinating for Emergencies-(BRACE), Community Maritime Park, and the City of Pensacola would like to invite you to the 3rd Annual City-Wide Hurricane & Disaster Preparedness Day event on Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 10:00 am-2:00 pm at the Community Maritime Park, 301 W. Main Street, Pensacola, FL 32502.

BRACE and its partners are striving to make our community the most disaster resilient in America. To prepare the Pensacola community for the upcoming Hurricane season and other disasters, BRACE has partnered with the Community Maritime Park and City of Pensacola to host the 3rd Annual City-Wide Hurricane & Disaster Preparedness Day event.

Lack of emergency preparedness can lead to loss of life, injury and economic loss. Sadly, 44% of the public indicate they have not done more to prepare for disasters because they don’t know what to do. Greg Strader, Executive Director for BRACE, urges residents to take advantage of this great opportunity to learn how to be ready for hurricanes and emergencies of all kinds.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet our City and County public safety partners, local disaster response and relief agencies, as well as emergency education and training partners to gather information on how to properly prepare for a disaster. More than 65 sponsors, agencies and businesses are participating in the event. Special guests like Bullwinkle, Kazoo, and Maverick will be arriving throughout the day to entertain kids while participants learn how to build disaster kits, get children’s I. D.’s made, donate blood, and learn more about getting prepared for a disaster. Also be on the lookout for drone demonstrations throughout the day.
