The City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Department welcomes Cub Scout Pack 99 as the newest Adopt-A-Park volunteer group officially adopting Toledo Square Park off of 17th Avenue.
The group of boys and their pack leaders worked very hard on Monday afternoon trimming trees over sidewalks, picking up trash and limbs throughout the park, and sweeping off sand from the sidewalks.
“The park is definitely in much better shape now,” said Tim Land, Outdoor Pursuits and Volunteer Coordinator. “Some of the surrounding neighbors came by and said they could tell a big difference in their park and thanked the boys for their hard work. They are helping set the example to the community that you can get involved in the Adopt-A-Park Program no matter the age,” said Land.
