[ARCHIVED] Get Ready for a Fitness Revolution in 2016

The 2016 Fitness Revolution, a series of free fitness events is coming to the Community Maritime Park this January.

The City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Department, Community Maritime Park and Trek Bicycle Store of Pensacola have partnered to offer the 2016 Fitness Revolution, a series of free fitness events at the Community Maritime Park throughout the month of January.

The event kicks off January 9th from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and features group fitness class demonstrations, health and wellness information booths, and interactive activities for the entire family. Each Saturday of the month will feature two full-length group fitness classes at the amphitheater starting at 9:00 a.m. and ending around 11:00 a.m.

The Fitness Revolution was started as an annual motivational fitness series to help citizens focus on their health and fitness goals through classes and support from organizations and fitness centers. “Last year we had a blast getting those fitness goals kicked off in a big way and we're looking to help even more people this year,” said organizer Justin Paul CMP Program Specialist for the City of Pensacola. “This year we’re bringing more variety of fun and non-traditional ways to be active and achieve fitness results.”

Laticia “Action” Jackson will kick off the January 9th event at 9am leading a 20 minute warm-up leading into twelve different fitness class demonstrations led by local instructors. Presenting sponsor, Trek Bicycle Store will have bicycle safety checks and rider safety clinics throughout the day and more activities planned each Saturday during the month. We will also be joined by community partners 5210 Northwest Florida, Knockerball Pensacola, and Unlimited Fitness Results with fun activities for the whole family.
