One man has been arrested and police are searching for a second suspect involved in at least one burglary that occurred Wednesday.
Rodney D. Anderson, 23, of the 7800 block of Herrington Drive, Pensacola was arrested Thursday morning. He was charged with burglary and petit theft. Additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.
Around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sgt. Daniel Harnett responded to the 2000 block of East Lloyd Street on a report of two people seen trying to get into vehicles. When Harnett began questioning the suspects, both fled on foot and were able to successfully elude officers.
Around 11 p.m. Wednesday, both suspects burglarized a house in the 1200 block of North 19th Avenue. The suspects walked through the residence and began taking items. While they were inside the residence, the victim returned home, found them and called police.
The suspects fled the residence on foot, but Anderson was found around 3:15 a.m. and taken into custody.
Detectives have recovered some items believed to have been taken by the suspects in additional burglaries and are trying to identify the owners. Among the items are IPad and electronic devices believed to have been stolen within the past week.
