Pensacola Fire Department Participating in Fire Prevention Week Oct. 3-9

The Pensacola Fire Department is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association® — the official sponsor of Fire Prevention Week for more than 90 years — to promote this year’s Fire Prevention WeekTM campaign, “Learn the Sounds of Fire SafetyTM.” This year’s campaign, October 3-9,  works to educate everyone about simple but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe.

The Pensacola Fire Department is hosting a series of events in support of this year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign, including a drive-thru Public Safety Day Oct. 2 at the Community Maritime Park, where PFD will distribute Fire Prevention Week goodie bags during the Soul Bowl. PFD will also provide public education on fire safety including smoke alarms at local city community centers after school programs on Oct. 1.

Prizes will also be available for select individuals who participate in Pensacola Fire Department's "Chalk One Up to Fire Safety!" contest. Click here to learn more about Fire Prevention Week and how to participate.
