As we reflect on the past year's memories made through parks and programs, we are so grateful to have each and every one of you to share our great park system with and to continue offering you great service year after year.

We know it's hectic this time of year as holiday gatherings with friends and family are filling up your calendars along with the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Just don't forget to Get Out and Play this December! Join us for one or more of the great events and activities we have in store this month.

New Language Classes at Fricker Resource Center

Have you ever wanted to learn a new language? Bilingualism (the ability to speak or use two languages) boosts brain power. Now Fricker Resource Center is offering two language courses so you can find out how powerful a boost knowing two or more languages can be. The best part is they are both offered for free.

Parlez-vous Francais? Join instructor Francois Vieux from Lake Charlene for weekly French lessons at the Fricker Center. These classes are held each Monday afternoon from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

American Sign Language classes are held on Wednesday afternoons from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Added benefits of learning sign language are the ability to communicate in a unique and graceful or expressive way; improved spelling; and picking up a new skill that can make a difference in many public service professions.

Youth Competitive Basketball

Get in on the competition with the Fricker Center's Youth Basketball for U12-U14 Boys and Girls. The cost is $350 per team or $50 for individuals. Registration ends January 9th.

West Side Sports also has a Youth Basketball Training League for ages 5 to 10 at Cobb, Fricker and Woodland Heights Resource Centers. For more information visit our website.
