Mayoral Transition Team meeting notes February 6

Mayoral Transition Team Chairman Quint Studer provided opening comments to go over the final report. He said this is will not be a consulting report where suggestions are made to evaluate personnel which includes hires, fires, promotions and pay raises.

Chairman Studer provided members with a template to help them come up with their recommendations for the final report. He asked members to use objective data, but to feel free to share their opinions and expertise on the category.

Mayor Grover Robinson told his Transition Team the real thing he is looking for in the report is a strategic plan, not a public relations piece. He expressed his excitement for the report and said he plans to hold a workshop to go over some of the ideas.

The Transition Team agreed on a cutoff date of February 15 to provide public input to be included in the transition report. Those who would like to provide their comments can do so on

Chairman Studer gave the presentation “Leading Change- Understanding and Managing Change.” The presentation included The Phases of Change:

Phase one: The honeymoon
Phase two: Reality sets in
Phase three: The uncomfortable gap
Phase four: Consistency

The next Transition Team meeting will be February 19 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the Hagler-Mason Conference Room.
