Hitzman-Optimist Park Playground Set to Open this Saturday

Join Mayor Grover Robinson and the City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Department as we celebrate the opening of the new inclusive playground at Hitzman-Optimist Park, 3221 Langley Ave.

The city will host a ribbon cutting on Saturday, March 16th at 10:30 a.m. for the public to experience all the innovative features of this new playground.

The goal of the Hitzman Optimist Park playground is to innovate play experiences and provide quality outdoor play for people of all ages and abilities that develop the whole child, the whole environment, and ultimately, benefit the whole community. Play components were specifically selected to address the developmental needs of the whole child by providing opportunities for physical, social and emotional, sensory, cognitive, and communicative play.
