Courts at Hollice T. Williams Park are ready for pickleball and tennis!

Get ready to play some pickle ball!

The tennis courts at Hollice T. Williams Park have been resurfaced and striped to accommodate pickleball. Parks and Recreation Director Brian Cooper said the sport is growing in popularity in Pensacola, so adding lines to the courts at Hollice T. Williams will cater to the demand.

“It’s a big deal nationwide,” Cooper said. “You’re starting to see state, regional competitions, national tournaments. It’s a great game.”

The park, located underneath the I-110 freeway, is used for a variety of purposes. It has basketball courts, a swimming pool and a walking path around the park. Cooper said there are more improvements to come.

“If we can continue to invest in this park, we feel like we can help bring both sides of the interstate together,” Cooper said. “We hope to improve it to make it more walkable and bikable in the near future. People are out here everyday playing basketball. In the summer our pool is busting at the seams. So this is a great little area.”

Come out and play!

Safety is a vital aspect to natural gas distribution and the employees of distribution companies endeavor to make natural gas delivery as safe as possible.
