Pensacola Placed Under Tropical Storm Warning for Potential Tropical Cyclone 16
The Pensacola area has been placed under a Tropical Storm Warning for Potential Tropical Cyclone 16. The City of Pensacola encourages residents and visitors to monitor official sources for information on the storm, which is expected to impact the Gulf Coast Friday evening into Saturday morning.
It is still too early to determine potential impacts to Pensacola, but the latest forecast shows the storm tracking east of the area, with possible tropical storm-force winds forecast arriving within the next 36 hours. Residents are reminded to seek out official sources for storm information such as National Weather Service, National Hurricane Center, City of Pensacola and Escambia County Emergency Management. According to the latest advisory from the National Hurricane Center, Potential Tropical Cyclone 16 is currently 140 miles east of Tampico, Mexico and is moving north at 8 miles per hour.
