The Special Assistant to the City Administrator serves as a senior advisor to the City Administrator in a wide variety of administrative and policy areas.
Keith Wilkins has stepped down as the City Administrator on Sept 30, 2021 and will continue in an advisory role as the Special Assistant to the City Administrator from Oct. 1 through Dec. 17.
Mr. Keith Wilkins was appointed by former Mayor of Pensacola, Ashton Hayward in November 2015 to serve as the Assistant City Administrator for the City of Pensacola and the role of City Administrator on August 3, 2018. Mr. Wilkins comes to the City from Escambia County where he served as Director of Natural Resources Management and the Community and Environment Departments for 17 years. He has 35 years’ experience working in business management, public administration, and natural resource management.
Mr. Wilkins serves on the University of West Florida Environmental Science Advisory Committee and is a former member of the Five Flags Rotary Club. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Gulf Coast Diplomacy Council, Community Drug and Alcohol Council, International Paper Advisory Council, North Hill Preservation Association, NW Florida Association of Environmental Professionals, Florida Local Environmental Resource Agencies, Florida Water Monitoring Council and the Health Impacts from Climate Change Advisory Committee to the Florida Department of Health. Mr. Wilkins is a graduate of the Environmental Studies Program at the University of West Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences.
